Motorola Moto G (2nd Gen) – Best Choice For Budget Smartphone

0

Motorola first released the Motorola Moto G in 2013 and it did just enough to make the Motorola Moto G 2014 version one of the best budget smartphones available in the market today. It’s design is simply superb with a curved back, a clean face and the Motorola logo embedded cleanly into the phones’ outer casing.

Design

Some of the other small but interesting details include the headphone jack being placed on the center of the top edge. The rear camera also has an interesting faint color circle to add just a little bit of class and aesthetic touch to how the phone looks.

The Motorola Moto G has a 5 inch 720p screen for your viewing pleasure. The screen almost completely fills the entire front of the phone and only leaves a marginal bezel bound on the left and the right edges and a front facing grill for the speakers which makes it look very similar to the the Moto E.

The Motorola Moto G has an impressive design and it is almost impossible to notice the small notification light that sits next to the front facing camera. That is until someone writes you an email or message and it lights up brilliantly white to reveal itself. The proximity sensor of the Motorola Moto G is also something else that you can easily miss. It is located below the top speaker and all this just adds to its impressive design.

Processor And Memory

The Motorola Moto G comes with a Qualcomm 1.2GHz Snapdragon 400 processor which is the same model that its predecessor had. It is still a mystery why Motorola opted to stick to the same processor as one would expect it to come with a more powerful processor. Nevertheless, these specs are still quite outstanding for a budget smartphone.

Display And Sound

The Motorola Moto G’s 5 inch display and 720p screen is a marvel. The clarity is impressive, it has a wide viewing angle and the colors are accurate. In regards to sound, the Motorola Moto G has silver trimmed speakers on the top of its front face and another on the lower side of its rear end. The sound clarity is good enough and does not produce any distortion even when put in high volume.

Software

The Motorola Moto G uses Android 4.4.4 which doesn’t come as a shock. The operating system combined with its powerful core makes for a very interesting list of just what this phone is capable of achieving.

Camera

An 8 megapixel rear facing camera is a big improvement from the 5 megapixel camera that the 2013 version came with. This means that this phone is capable of taking clear images even in poor lighting conditions.

Performance And Battery Life

While the Motorola Moto G uses a one year old chipset, there is a stunning fluidity in its use and almost no lag time. It runs lean and dedicates its processing power in a clean prioritized manner. Thorough performance tests on this phone show that on normal day to day use, you should not have any complaints in the Moto G’s performance.

Putting everything into perspective, the Motorola Moto G is one great budget smartphone that will not disappoint where it matters.
