WhatsApp 2.12.45 APK Update Free Download and Save Conversations on Google Drive

After the Voice Calling was added to WhatsApp, it seems that more users installed this awesome application. Currently, there are over 800 million active users and their number is growing fast, and to make things even better, we have some good news for all the users! From now on, you will never lose your WhatsApp conversations, in case someone stoles your mobile device or you lose it.

The new version of WhatsApp allows you to make backups and restore them from the Google Drive. This way, all your conversations will be saved on the virtual drive, which can be accessed from your Google account. The version of WhatsApp that allows you to make backups and restore them from the Google Drive is 2.12.45 and can already be downloaded from APKMirror website (for some reason, the website still hosts the 2.12.44 version).

HINT: WhatsApp 2.12.45 is currently in BETA, which means that you will most likely find some bugs and errors which will be fixed until the developers release a STABLE version of it.

Installing WhatsApp 2.12.45 on your Android device and setting up Google Drive

To install WhatsApp 2.12.45 on your Android device you will firstly have to uninstall the current WhatsApp version from your device. However, before you do that, make sure that you make a backup or else you will lose all your WhatsApp conversations.

After you’ve made the backup, uninstall the older version of WhatsApp and download WhatsApp 2.12.45 APK on your device. Since this application has been downloaded from a third party source, your Android device will not allow you to install it if you don’t have the Unknown Sources option enabled. This option allows you to install any APK files that you download from any source. To enable it it’s quite easy, as you will just need to go to your device Settings->Applications or Settings->Security and search for Unknown Sources. Once you find it, make sure that the box in front of it it’s marked.

Now, you can install WhatsApp 2.12.45 on your Android device. Once the installation is complete, use your mobile phone number to get verified and when it detects the backup file, tap on the restore button to recover all your messages. Now, when you will look on Settings->Chat Settings->Chat Backup, you will notice that there you can setup your Google Drive Settings, backup frequency etc.

This way, in case you lose your device, you will still be able to recover all your messages on the new device without any problems (as long as you go to your carrier and ask for a new SIM card with the old mobile phone number).
