0

We are still far away from the official presentation of the Samsung Galaxy Note 5.

However, leaks and rumors are starting to heat up and the latest are regarding the display of the Note 5. Following the success of the Galaxy Note 4, you can expect even better things from the Note 5, which might be the best phablet Samsung ever made.

Release Date Rumors

Let’s start from the beginning, as to when will the phone be available. Rumors are that Samsung is targeting the IFA event in Berlin as the venue for announcing the Samsung Galaxy Note 5. This will continue the one year cycle by Samsung. The company also announced the Galaxy Note 4 in September last year. The IFA event is scheduled for September this year.

Display Rumors

Size matters in the world of smartphones, as the Galaxy Note 4 has proven to be very popular. But the resolution also matters and Samsung is looking to announce the first smartphone with 4K display. According to earlier rumors and reports, the Samsung Galaxy Note 5 will have a display with a resolution of 3840 x 2160 pixels. Additionally, Samsung intends to lower the size up to 5.5 inches, which will further improve the density of the display. With so many pixels, you can expect highly realistic, vivid and accurate colors. Rumors are that Samsung intends to maximize the potential of the new GearVR device, a virtual reality device that is now compatible with the latest models by Samsung.

Specs Rumors

There is little info about the specs of the Galaxy Note 5, but some of the rumors suggest an improved chipset and better one than the Exynos 7420 found in the Galaxy S6. Samsung intends to make the new flagship even faster, adding a next generation Exynos 7422 chipset with 64-bit architecture in the Note. Additionally, the phone will have 4 GB of RAM.

Edge Version

Same as with the Galaxy S6, Samsung intends to release an Edge version of the Galaxy Note 5. The difference is that the Edge version will have lower specs and it won’t feature the S Pen Stylus that is the signature of the Galaxy Note line. The Galaxy Note 5 Edge will have a sloped screen on both sides, same as with the S6 Edge. As for the specs, it is possible that Samsung will use the Snapdragon 808 as a chipset in the Edge version along with 3 GB of RAM.
