Samsung Galaxy S5 Neo Cheaper and Powerful Version
The Galaxy S5 flagship, which was released in 2014, received only a Mini version with weaker specs, but it was expensive enough and not many fans rushed to buy it. However, later, some rumors appeared on the internet, saying that a Neo version of this flagship will be released with the same dimensions, but it will have a different processor, front facing shooter and network connectivity.
On GSMArena, the Galaxy S5 Neo appears to be canceled, but in the meantime, a new leak was reported by Sammobile, indicating that the Galaxy S5 Neo (SM-G903F) was spotted and it will come as a more affordable version of the famous flagship. Since it’s an identical copy of the Galaxy S5, the Neo version will have the same dimensions of 142×72.5×8.1 mm and Super AMOLED display of 5.1inches with 1080 x 1920 pixels resolution and 432ppi. Also, the device would feature the popular fingerprint scanner and would be water and dust resistant.
So, what would be changed on the Galaxy S5 Neo?
The 32bit quad-core 2.5GHz Krait 400 Qualcomm MSM8974AC Snapdragon 801 processor from the Galaxy S5 would be replaced with a 64bit octa-core Exynos 7580 processor which would be coupled with 2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage. The rear camera’s resolution would be untouched and remaining at 16MP, but the front camera would be improved, supporting 5MP instead of 2MP. Another feature that would make the dual SIM users very happy is the LTE-A connectivity, while the battery would also keep its capacity of 2800mAh, because if it would be bigger, the dimensions of the device would “suffer”.
Samsung hasn’t confirmed the development of the Galaxy S5 Neo, but we’re pretty sure that if it will be released in countries like India, Russia and China, it would be very successful. According to the leaked information, the phone will run on Android 5.1 Lollipop, but it’s not sure yet which version of TouchWiz UI will be used. We don’t think that the Neo variant will be released too soon, but if the rumors are true, it could arrive this fall.
