Samsung Galaxy S6 vs HTC One M9 – Best Features, Specs and Cameras Comparison

1

Samsung has been working on its Galaxy S6 and HTC has also been competing against Samsung by developing the One M9 model. The MWC event in Barcelona was a great starting point for both of these companies to make their handset shine. Let’s have a closer look at some of their key features:

  1. Design

We can say for sure than Samsung tends to learn from its mistakes. And we can also say that this current gizmo is the finest of all the Galaxy S ones that Samsung came out with. You can see there are glass panels on both sides of the device and there is a very sleek finish to the overall handset.

The HTC One M9 is falling behind here, because is hasn’t come out with anything spectacular from its former version. It does have the ergonomic look and maneuvering, but that’s all. The good part is that now it can resist to scrapes due to an added coating. It also comes with a fine metal finish. Take a look at the silver one with the gold edges, you will love it.

So as far as the overall design, these devices are not that different. The materials that have been used in the creation of these handsets are the best ones, but unfortunately they both get a minus for not having detachable battery units and because they are not water resistant gizmos.

  1. Display

Samsung’s Galaxy S6 has a 5.1in QHD Super AMOLED touch display having a  tremendous pixel density of 577ppi whereas the HTC has integrated a 5 inch Super LCD3 display with a 1080p full HD resolution(440ppi).The fact that it has a 1080p will also save a lot of battery power.

Samsung Super AMOLED “gimmicks” have really resolved the color issues by keeping the brightness at top-notch levels. The quality of the pictures is undoubtedly the best.

  1. Hardware

The Samsung device has a 64-bit Exynos 7420 octa-core chip (2.1GHz), 3GB of RAM as well as a Mali-T760 GPU.

HTC on the other hand has not given up the Qualcomm tech, not yet anyway. Thus it has a Snapdragon 810 octa-core 64-bit chip (2GHz), a 3GB of RAM as well as an Adreno 430 GPU. The fun element included in the HTC as far as the hardware is concerned is basically the stereo BoomSound speakers which are linked to a neat amplifier. You also get Dolby Audio with it.

  1. Storage & Connectivity

Samsung has a lot of options when it comes to storage.  One can opt for the 32GB, 64GB or 128GB. The One M9 only received the 32GB option, but it does come packed with the microSD support for cards that can support up to 128GB.

In terms of networks, both of these devices function on: 3G and 4G LTE, dual-band Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and NFC.

  1. Battery

HTC choose a 2,840mAh whereas Samsung went for a 2,550mAh with charging wireless options. The fingerprint scanner is also something that Samsung worked on. You can now link it with the Samsung pay, which is a payment service Samsung is trying really hart to promote.

  1. Camera Specs

This time around HTC has really targeted the camera elements and all that comes with. Users get to experience a 20 MP camera. This is just the primary one, because the secondary camera received the 4 ”Ultrapixel” option and some neat angle lenses for your selfie pictures. You also get to playa round with fun gallery apps on your HTC handset. The Galaxy S6 comes with a 16MP sensor, which is added on the back and on the front you have a 5MP camera. Because both of the cameras have f/1.9 apertures, this means the lighting will definitely improve the quality of the photos. As far as lens for the latter gizmo, the front one has wider lenses included whilst the rear camera has a dual LED flash instead.
