Sony Xperia Z3+ vs. LG G4 – Comparison of Specs, Battery, Camera and Performance
A great processor and improved photography have made the Sony Xperia Z3+ a notch higher than its previous version.
What sets the LG G4 apart is its amazingly good looks and impeccable camera. But, with the Sony Xperia Z3+ being announced as a Japan release recently; we can expect a global rollout very soon. Before that, here’s an intricate insight into what to expect of the two Smartphone releases this summer.
Appearance and colors
The LG G4 sports the same rounded aluminum frame; however, the device comes in two chassis variants – leather and metal. Though the company indicates that the leather frame might fade over with time, we like the upgrade, since it promises to be way more exciting than the other phones releasing in the market presently. In fact, it is a great addition to the product line, having seen every phone in the metal frame. The Sony Xperia Z3+comes in various metal colors – white, black, copper, and aqua green, same as the previous version. The curvier feel of the LG G4 feels more comfortable when compared to the flat Xperia Z3+.
The battery life of the Sony Xperia Z3+, as claimed, can be charged 0-60% in just 30 minutes. It is a slightly smaller battery and cannot be removed. The LG G4 on the other hand comes with a removable 300mAh battery along with the option for compatible battery backup, which is great for travel, as you can always insert another; however, it is not advisable as it may cause harm to the device. When using the LG Quick Circle Case, there is also the option for Qi enabled wireless charging.
Both the devices are chunky when it comes to the display. The Sony Xperia Z3+ provides a more natural looking hue i.e. greens are greener; blues are bluer, reds more prominently red with its 5.2inch IPS LCD Triluminous display. The LG G4 provides a more enhanced quantum equipped display with its 5.5 inch IPS Quad HD 1440×2560 screen resolution. Also, the LCD and touch layer combined into a single sheet using the Advanced In-Cell Touch technology provides an edge with increased color production. With a high-end quality resolution display, the LG G4 exceeds the market expectation with its display features.
For now the Sony Xperia Z3+ is yet to launch in the market globally; so we will have to look at the hardware specifications of both the devices to understand which of the two is more powerful. Both are equipped with Adreno Graphics and 3GB RAM, but the LG G4 is the stronger of the two with its powerful Qualcomm Snapdragon 808 processor. Memory storage of LG G4 is 32GB while Sony Xperia Z3+ is available in both 32GB and 64GB variants. With an added microSD slot it is possible to increase extra storage up to 128GB.
Sony Xperia Z3+ display glass is shatter proof as claimed by the tech giant. Also, a P68 certification of the product indicates it being dust proof. In fact the device is water resistant too with a withstand capacity of 1 meter for 30 minutes. The LG G4’s display is protected with Corning Gorilla Glass 3 and isn’t dust or water proof as well.
As already stated, both the devices are equipped with impressive camera specifications, with the Sony Xperia Z3+ consisting of the 20.7MP auto focus, face detection, touch focus, panaroma and HDR features. This is the same as the previous Xperia Z3 and has a 5.1MP front facing camera. The LG G4 comes with a laser autofocus which allows for lightning quick photography. Other features are LED flash; image recording, optical image stabilization and more. Face detection and geo tagging is also supported.
Both the Smartphones contain Android Lollipop with Xperia having the original 5.0; the LG G4, on the other hand, consists of the Lollipop 5.1 release. The battery Stamina and Lifelog features are unique to the Xperia Series that provides superior entertainment facilities on the device. New added features like Event Pockets, Smart Notice, Quick Shot and even the Gallery apps have got a new upgrade.
The LG G4 and Sony Xperia Z3+ consist of Bluetooth 4.1, dual-band Wi-Fi, hotspot, GPS and NFC. But the LG G4 does offer some remarkable facilities with its unique Infrared sensor that can easily turn the phone into a remote.
Since we still need to wait for the Sony Xperia z3+ that hasn’t launched globally, it is yet to be seen which of the two is better. For now, the Xperia z3+ is a better choice with superior performance rather than the LG G4.
