Nexus 6 vs Xperia Z4 – Sony’s First Phablet in 2015
Google has entered the phablet market back in 2014, but it struggle to maintain itself at a high level, to stand out in front of its competition. But the list of threats to Nexus 6 is getting a new name: Xperia Z4, which will be available in the US via Verizon Wireless.
The device is huge, featuring a 5.96 inches AMOLED screen that supports 1440×2560 pixels at 493ppi and it looks like Motorola’s Moto X 2014 model because it was created by this company. Its design isn’t spectacular, featuring a matte plastic back with a thin metallic frame and the “nexus” brand is written on the vertical, below the dimple with Motorola’s logo. The device has these physical dimensions: 159.3x83x10.1 mm and a weight of 184grams, meaning that it’s kind of uncomfortable to hold if you have small hands. Also, the phablet doesn’t come with a pen stylus, so you’ll hand both of your hands to operate on its big screen. However, the Nexus 6 has a weak water resistance and the front panel is protected with Corning Gorilla Glass 3.
The processor is Quad-core 2.7GHz Krait 450 supported by a 32bit Qualcomm Snapdragon 805 chipset along with Adreno 420 graphics and 3GB of RAM. The buyers can choose between the two variants of internal memories with capacities of 32 and 64GB, but they must know that the device doesn’t have a microSD card slot. Currently, the Nexus 6 runs on Android v5.1 Lollipop, but it was released with v5.0 Lollipop. It has a 13MP camera on the back with optical image stabilization and dual-LED flash, which is a big improvement over the 8MP shooter from the Nexus 5. However, the secondary camera isn’t too awesome at 2MP. As for the battery, it’s non-removable and with a capacity of 3220mAh. On Amazon, the 32GB variant is priced at 500 dollars and the 32GB model is 50 dollars more expensive.

It has minor cosmetic changes over the previous model, meaning that the microUSB port is now placed on the bottom and doesn’t have a sealed door. The magnetic charging pins have been removed from the sides, while the microUSB and SIM card slots can be accessed from one single port. The screen has the same size of 5.2inches with Full HD resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels at 424ppi and it uses IPS LCD technology. However, the processor was upgraded and now, the device is powered by a 64bit Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 octa core processor consisting of a quad core CPU clocked at 1.5GHz and a quad core CPU running at 2GHz, which are coupled with 3GB of RAM.
The device has an internal memory of 32GB which can climb up to 128GB, and the main camera is 20.7MP with a 25mm wide-angle lens and LED flash, while the secondary camera is 5.1MP. The battery is smaller at 2930mAh and the dimensions of the Z4 are 146x72x6.9mm, with a total weight of 144grams. Likewise the predecessor, the Z4 is dust and water resistant. The color options will White, Black, Copper and Aqua Green, but we haven’t heard anything about its price, yet.
