WhatsApp Voice Calling Download For Windows Phone Users

0

WhatsApp’s Voice Calling will roll out to all Windows Phone users soon enough. This feature is already available on iOS, BlackBerry 10 and Android and it was well received by the users, even if it has some problems at first. However, the downside of this feature is that it uses a bit too much data. Actually, it uses almost as much data that the Skype application is consuming on mobile devices.

On the other hand, the Skype application comes with HD quality calls and this explains why the application uses so much data. According to some users, WhatsApp’s Voice Calling feature is not working as expected. While using this feature, it seems that the call is either lagging or ending for no particular reason.

However, it is good to know that the developers of WhatsApp are continuously working on the Voice Calling feature and soon they will fix all the found issues.

Getting the WhatsApp Voice Calling feature on your Windows Phone

In order to use the WhatsApp Voice Calling feature on your Windows Phone, you will need to download and install the latest BETA version of WhatsApp. To do this, you will need to manually download and install the WhatsApp 2.12.46 XAP file.

Once you’ve finished installing WhatsApp 2.12.46 on your Windows Phone device, you will need to accept the terms of use and enter your mobile phone number, then log into your WhatsApp account.

Now, while chatting with someone on WhatsApp, you will notice a “calling” button somewhere on the bottom right side. Tap on it to call your WhatsApp friend and start using this awesome feature.

Is WhatsApp a threat for Viber, Skype or other instant messaging application that offers Voice Calls?

We’re pretty sure that the developers of Viber, Skype etc know that WhatsApp is recovering the lost ground. However, at least for now, it seems that the Voice Calling feature of WhatsApp is not better than the one that Viber or Skype are offering. But, as we’ve told you above, the developers of WhatsApp are continuously working on this feature and sooner or later, we will see a huge improvement.
