The newest hybrid (a combo between a laptop and a tablet) was unveiled by Microsoft, this is the Surface 3 device. Currently, Microsoft is on the verge of launching the Surface Pro 4, which will definitely shadow Apple and Samsung. We will evaluate the specs of Microsoft Surface 3 with the allegedly incorporated features of the Surface Pro 4 to see which the best choice out of the two devices is:
Design and Hardware
The Surface 3 has a Type Cover keyboard and a nice pen, but these two accessories will have to be purchased separately. Its kickstand can also be modified to fit 3 different positions. As far as the Surface Pro 4 is concerned, it should be thinner and will also be suitable for all of the additional accessories that come with the Surface Pro 3. The Surface Pro 4 will also have a camera addition.
An Intel Atom x7-Z8700 processor with 4 cores (1.6 GHz) is what Surface Pro 3 contains whereas the Surface Pro 4 will be equipped with a Skylake processor chip, but some believe that the latter device will come packed with a an Intel Core M Broadwell chip. This remains to be seen.
Display and Memory
The Surface 3 comes packed with an IPS LCD display (the measurements are 10.8 inches with a resolution of 1920×1280 pixels). The Surface Pro 4 should roll out in 2 models. There is the 12 inch one and the 14 inch. They will both have a 2K display and a 2160×1440 pixels resolution.
As far as the memory is concerned, the Surface 3 contains in 64 and 128 GB options with a memory slot available for further expansion, and it also gives users the opportunity to choose between 2 GB or 4 GB RAM.
The Surface Pro 4 is expected to have 3 choices:-128GB, 256GB, 500GB, as well as 16 GB RAM.
Expect to pay $500 for the Surface 3 (minus the pen and cover) whereas for the Surface Pro 4 you will end up paying between $1,200 – $2,000.
