The final and official version of Microsoft 10 will arrive on July 29, which means that within 5 weeks, the Windows 7 and 8 users will upgrade for free. But, if you don’t have a license for any of these two versions of Windows, you will have to pay $199, to purchase a copy of the new OS. However, there’s a way to get a free copy of Windows 10, but you’ll need to wait a little longer.
Let’s say that you have 200 dollars, but you’d prefer to spend it on a new phone, or on any other new gadget that you really need, and in the same time, you want to upgrade your computer to Microsoft’s latest Windows 10 OS. What can you do to kill two birds with one stone? If you’re a person with a lot of patience and you don’t mind waiting, first, you need to make sure that you’ve downloaded the latest build of Insider Preview, because you will be able to upgrade to the retail RTM version without having to pay any dollar. Of course, you won’t get the Windows 10 right after it gets released on July 29, but the version you will receive will be a full and genuine product, which will be available for life. This means that you will receive updates without having to activate the product before.
So, if you didn’t enroll in the Windows 10 Insider Preview Program, do it now, install the latest preview build 10130 or upgrade to it, in case you have a previous build, then set your PC using your Microsoft account. You don’t need to do anything else, now that you have preview build 10130. You will start getting updates for other future build of Insider Preview Program and when Windows 10 will be released on July 29, as a final RTM version, it will be available for you, as well. When you will want to reinstall your Windows, you will do it without any problems, since it will be genuine.
Windows 10 will try to repair what Windows 8 destroyed: fans’ confidence in Microsoft’s software, after it was highly criticized mostly because it removed the necessary Start Menu. The new version will be available for computers, laptops, tablets and smartphones, and the users who already bought a genuine copy of Windows 7 or 8, they can reserve their free copy of Microsoft 10.
