The new Motorola’s Moto X is presumed to reach the markets in the month of August.

Rick Osterloh (CEO of Motorola) issued a statement in which he claimed the following: “the company will stay on a roughly annual cycle for all of our products, including Moto X.

Just to refresh your memory, the 2nd generation Moto X (came out back in 2014) was released in September, while the 1st Moto X (the 2013 version) also came out in the month of August. So, we could definitely consider the previous months good time target months for the unveiling of the new Moto X. Christian Today, were the ones who actually anticipated that the Moto X gizmo will roll out in the month of August whereas those from BGR considered the month of October as the deadline for the unveiling of the device.

Most of the fine points concerning the device are mere assumptions, but Ecumenical News claimed that a Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 810 processor will definitely be firing up the Moto gadget. But apparently, there might be some problems with the processor as it tends to heat up pretty quickly. So, this has enabled those from Qualcomm to work on a cooler variant of the processor, the Snapdragon 815. Allegedly, a Snapdragon 820 chip has also been implemented. Having said all this, we are almost sure that the Moto X will roll out with one of the two mentioned chips.

According to some wishful thinking from a source within Android Central forum, it would be neat to see the device roll out with a 5.5-inch display, a 16 MP main camera unit as well as a 3 MP front one. It should have 2.5 GB of RAM, 3000 mAh battery and of course the ability to expand the storage.

Other enthusiasts also wish that the device rolls out with 32 GB storage, wireless charging, water resistant features and a slider keyboard design.

Reddit users are content with a smaller 4.7 inch screen, 1080p AMOLED display and merely 16 GB storage. The processor however must be a Snapdragon 808 or 810 chip and of course the 4K video feature is a must as well as an USB (Type C).

Quick reminder: As you probably know already, the Moto X (2014 version) has a 5.2-inch screen (1080×1920 resolution) and a Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection. It is powered by a Snapdragon 801 and it has a 13 MP camera and 2 MP front one. The battery is not detachable and it is a Li-Ion 2300 mAh one.

The camera also has:

  • autofocus
  • dual-LED flash
  • geo-tagging
  • touch focus
  • face detection
  • panorama 7 HDR
  • It only weighs 144 g and it measures 140.8×72.4×10 mm.
