While big names of the smartphone industry are battling in the high-end section, companies like Asus and OnePlus are eyeing on the budget smartphone users.
The Asus Zenfone series has already received positive response from millions of prospective buyers through the success of Zenfone 5 and Zenfone 2. On the other hand, OnePlus One has created a huge buzz in the market and has set a proper platform for its rumored successor, OnePlus Two. With the two rumored smartphones likely to be released in the third quarter of 2015, let’s find out which budget smartphone you should pocket this fall.
The OnePlus Two features an LTPS LCD capacitive touchscreen of 5.5 inches. It offers multi-touch functionality up to 10 fingers to the users. On the other hand, the Zenfone Selfie comes with an IPS capacitive touchscreen of 5.5 inches with standard multi-touch feature. Both the devices have a screen resolution of 1080 x 1920 pixels. In addition to this, the two devices have Corning Gorilla Glass 4 protection.

User Interface and Operating System
The Asus Zenfone uses its signature Asus ZenUI. This interface is appreciated by the users of other Zenfone smartphones. On the contrary, the OnePlus Two features the CyanogenMod UI; a popular interface among smartphone geeks. CyanogenMod is used by many smartphone lovers and developers who desire to replace their phone’s default interface.
When it comes to the operating system, both the devices run on the Android OS. While the Zenfone Selfie features the Android v5.0 (Lollipop), its competitor offers its newer update – the Android v5.1 (Lollipop).
The OnePlus Two features a 1.5 GHz Cortex-A53 Quad-core and 2 GHz Cortex-A57 Quad-core processor, alongside Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 chip and Adreno 430 GPU. In contrast, the Zenfone Selfie offers 1 GHz Octa-core Cortex-A53 CPU, Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 chipset and Adreno 405 graphics. Hence, the OnePlus Two clearly offers more powerful configuration on a whole.

The two devices are expected to feature 3 GB RAM. Apart from this, the internal storage of the OnePlus device is 16 GB and 64 GB. There is no expandable storage option in this device. In comparison, the Zenfone Selfie will come in two versions – 16 GB and 32 GB. Additionally, the Selfie device has an external storage slot that supports microSD card up to 64 GB.

The OnePlus Two smartphone comes with a 16 MP sensor rear camera that captures images at a resolution of 5312 x 2988 pixels. On the contrary, the Asus Selfie has a 13 MP camera that shoots at 4128 x 3096 pixels. Both the smartphones have Dual LED Flash and image enhancement features like geo-tagging, touch focus, HDR and panorama. The front camera of OnePlus Two has 5 MP lens, in comparison to Zenfone Selfie’s 13 MP camera with a Dual-LED Flash.
To sum it up, the two devices provide intense competition to every device in the budget-range. While the OnePlus Two offers more powerful hardware, the Zenfone has more storage and better front camera.
