Roku 4 Will Tear Down All its direct competitors
Right after Roku 3 was released back in March 2013, it became one of the most popular devices for streaming movies and TV shows from Netflix and Hulu on TVs. It seems that the developers have not been inactive during this time, as they are now getting ready to release a new Roku generation.
Roku knows that there is a very competitive market for TV streaming devices and the upcoming Roku 4 will have to fight with other streaming devices from Amazon, Google or Apple.
Anthony Wood, Roku’s CEO, said in a recent interview that he’s pretty confident that the company strategies against big companies such as Amazon, Google or Apple will be good enough to make the upcoming device better than the other streaming devices. Wood also said that Roku came with good business strategies in the past and the history will be repeated for sure.
Roku 4 Features
Since it took a while for the company to release the Roku 4, we can clearly say that this upcoming device will receive a lot of new features and enhancements. It seems that the upcoming Roku 4 will be able to stream 4K videos, which means that it will be the first streaming device that will be able to do that. We’re pretty sure that this feature will make a lot of people who use streaming devices to ditch their old streaming devices for the Roku 4.
At the same time, the Roku 4 will load faster through the navigational screen and it will also boot-up faster. The upcoming Roku 4 will also feature a reset button, located in the front-panel, an improved channel store, a more stable firmware and it will support Wi-Fi 802.11 AC.
Roku 4 will come with 2GB of RAM, which is quite a jump from the 512MB of RAM that the current Roku 3 features. With this big RAM upgrade, the device will surely be able to stream without any lag at all and it will be more powerful than other current streaming devices that are today on the market.
There are rumors which say that the upcoming Roku 4 will also feature an internal antenna to improve its signal strength.
What are your thoughts about the upcoming Roku 4? Are you going to buy it?
