Sony Xperia Z5 Scheduled for September Release, Finally the Slagship Sony Promised
Truth be told, the Sony Xperia Z4, or the Z3+ is a failure.
Fans were expecting a lot more, and Sony failed to deliver. However, it looks like the company will try to mend the mistake and deliver another Xperia device this year. Even though Sony first said there will be only one Xperia flagship per year, criticism from fans have changed Sony’s mind. The Sony Xperia Z5 is tipped for a September launch and it looks like the phone Sony promised and fans were expecting. Here are some of the initial rumors about the flagship device.
Design and Display
It is early to talk about the design and whether there will be major changes. However, one thing is certain, the Xperia Z5 will be a bigger phone and will finally enter the phablet market. With a display of 5.5 inches, the Xperia Z5 will be half an inch bigger than its predecessor. Another lesson that Sony learned is that fans want quality and crisp display. Therefore, Sony is delivering a QHD display with the Z5.
Hardware and Operating System
Like many phones scheduled for release in the second half of the year, the Sony Xperia Z5 will benefit from the new Snapdragon 820 chipset. The flagship is another phone that is expected to be powered by the new, quad core processor by Qualcomm. Additionally, the Z5 will finally have 4 GB of RAM, something that Sony was promising with the latest two generations of the phone. The internal memory is limited to 32 GB, but as with previous versions, the support for the microSD card compensates. As for the operating system, it is unrealistic to expect the Xperia Z5 to ship with Android M. The more plausible scenario is the phone to run on the Android 5.1.
The sheer power of the Xperia Z4 was good, but Sony is again increasing it. The Xperia Z5 is tipped with a 25-MP rear sensor and an 8-MP front snapper. However, both the sensors cannot compensate for the lack of optical image stabilization, a feature we might finally see in the Z5. With a powerful sensor and optical image stabilization, the phone has the potential to be best on the market.
Sony’s phones are known for their reliability and their battery. The Xperia Z5 will take things further up a notch. At the moment, the rumors are the phone will be powered by a massive, enormous 4000 mAh battery supported by quick charging.
