Nexus 5 2015 vs Xiaomi Mi5 – Which Phone Will Be More Powerful?
Xiaomi is a Chinese mobile manufacturer that came out of nowhere and smashed many of the competitors, who were trying to take over the local market. Its products were mostly flagships, with fast processors and high quality cameras, but Xiaomi wants to be ahead of its rivals and bring the most powerful Android smartphone. Google, on the other hand, is preparing to launch a new Nexus 5 phone and there are two companies working on two different models, LG and Huawei.
The Xiaomi Mi5 will be extremely slim at 5.1mm and its screen that will measure 5.3inches will stretch to the left and right sides, which will make the (black) bezels very thin as well. The screen will be IPS LCD and for now, the highest resolution supported on phones is QHD 1440 x 2560 pixels, resulting in a pixel density of 554ppi on the Mi5. The phone is rumored to feature a fingerprint sensor, which is Sense ID with ultrasound.
One of the Nexus 5 2015 models will have a 5.2inches screen with Full HD resolution of 1080 x 1920 pixels, while the other model will come with a bigger 5.7inches screen.
GSMArena claims that the Mi5 will be powered by the next Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 chipset with two quad core processors clocked at 2.2GHz and 1.8GHz, and so far, the benchmarks results are promising. The processor will be backed by an Adreno 530 GPU and 4GB of RAM, which is a killer combination, making the phone more powerful than any other rival.
The Nexus 5, on the other hand, will come with a Snapdragon 808 processor, or at least, these are the rumors about LG’s model. Huawei will use a different configuration, for sure, but we’re hoping to see the same RAM capacity as on the Mi5.
We have no idea if the new Nexus 5 will allow you to extend its internal memory, because neither the Nexus 6, nor the Nexus 5 2013 have a microSD slot. The Mi 5 will be available in two storage options: 16GB and 64GB, which are fixed.
The front camera from the Mi5 will be 6MP, while the main camera will support 16MP and will be accompanied by dual-LED flash, OIS, HDR and other standard features. The Nexus 5 2015 will have the same back camera, but the one on the front side will be 5MP for selfies.
The Xiaomi Mi5 is expected to support a non-removable battery of 3,030mAh, but its life will depend on the efficiency of the processor. The Nexus 5 2015, on the other hand, is rumored to have a smaller battery of 2,700mAh.
Google will launch the Nexus 5 2015 along with the new Android M OS, which will happen in October or November. The Xiaomi Mi5 will most likely arrive in November.
