HTC One M9 vs HTC One M10 – How Does The Future Look?
HTC made some unpardonable mistakes and now it’s paying the price. The One M9 flagship which was released in March, came with almost the same design as its predecessor, featuring a brushed metal back with two horizontal strips located towards the upper and lower extremities, the rear camera has now square lens, instead of circular ones. Also, the One M9 is 0.2mm thicker than the previous model and has a variant with a rose gold frame, while another one has a pink frame. The rumors say that HTC will release the One M10 sooner than expected because of the problem with the low sales of the One M9.
The camera of the One M9 is not as great as anyone thought, despite of the big increase of resolution up to 20MP. And this is not only our conclusion, as there were performed multiple tests by lots of reviewers who said the same thing: the images are not as accurate and bright as the images taken with other phones supporting the same resolution.
The 20MP rear camera with f/2.2 aperture will be replaced with a 27MP camera with f/1.9 aperture, which will be able to store pictures as RAW files. Also, the front camera will be 5MP with 4K resolution, replacing the 4MP Ultrapixel snapper from the One M9.
The Snapdragon 810 is Qualcomm’s latest achievement, being used on many new flagships, but it seems that their manufacturers are regretting this choice, because the processor has serious heating problems which are affecting the battery life. Luckily, there’s a new Snapdragon model that will be available in short time, and HTC will surely want to use it for its next One M10 codenamed HTC Aero. The Snapdragon 820 SoC was announced in March and it will be seen in action on the upcoming flagships. Xiaomi is expecting to release the Mi5 with this processor and HTC is the second company with this intention.
The current One M9 has a 5inches screen supporting Full HD resolution of 1080 x 1920 pixels at 441 ppi, while the Aero will be capable of supporting 1440 x 2560 pixels resolution and will feature 2.5D glass, which will be covered by Corning Gorilla Glass 4.
According to Android Standard, the One M10 will house 4GB of RAM and will have two storage options with capacities of 64GB and 128GB. The phone is expected to arrive at the end of this fall or HTC will follow the release pattern and launch it in March, next year.
