Samsung Galaxy S6 EDGE Plus Changing Note 5 Sales – When Will It Be Released?
According to rumors, Samsung will copy Apple’s idea of bringing a larger variant for one of its flagships, and since the release of the Note 5 is approaching, there’s no need to come with another flat phablet. But, it seems that the Galaxy S6 Edge will benefit from a Plus variant, and its specs already surfaced. A phablet with a dual-edge curved display is more tempting that a standard phablet, but we’ll see if the fans will have the same opinion.
SamMobile is a reliable source that published some of the specs of the new Galaxy S6 Edge, which will carry the model number SM-G928 and which will lack the famous S-Pen stylus. The Galaxy S6 was dubbed as Project Zero and it seems that this handset is referred to as Project Zero 2. Below, you’ll find out more about the Galaxy S6 Edge Plus.
On July 14, SamMobile claimed that they have information from Samsung insiders who told them that the upcoming Galaxy S6 EDGE+ will be launched on August 12, but it will reach the stored on August 21. It seems that Samsung wants to release it at the same time as the Galaxy Note 5, while some rumors suggest that the launch will take place in New York, during some important event.
The Plus version of the Galaxy S6 Edge will be powered by a Samsung Exynos 7420 processor and will support 3GB of RAM, while the Note 5 will have 4GB. Samsung is disappointed of Qualcomm’s processors because they heat up pretty badly, and this is the reason why the South Korean company prefers to use its own processors. Before, it was rumored that the Galaxy S6 Edge+ will come with a 5.5inches Super AMOLED screen and a Snapdragon 808 hexa-core processor, an internal memory of 32GB and cameras of 16MP and 5MP respectively.
SamMobile has a different version: the phone will actually have a 5.7inches Super AMOLED screen supporting QHD resolution (2560 x 1440pixels), it will have a height of 151mm and a width of 71mm, the battery will have a capacity of 3000mAh and the color options will be black, gold, silver and white. Of course, the display will be curved on both sides and the back will be covered with Corning Gorilla Glass 4.
Another report from GSMArena says that the dimensions of the dual-edge phablet will measure 154.4×75.8×6.9mm.
