WhatsApp 2.12.183 Download Available – Voice Calls Consume Less Data Now
Great news for the Android users who installed WhatsApp on their smartphones to chat with their friends. This application is updated very often and the latest version, 2.12.183, brought some important changes. Until now, the users complained about the huge data usage when making voice calls, so the developers improved this service in a way that it can reduce the amount of data that is used when calling other WhatsApp users.
From now on, you will no longer experience high data usage from WhatsApp when calling your buddies, because the developers added a function which you’ll activate from Settings> Chats and call> Low data usage. After selecting this option, you will notice that your calls will no longer use so much data, as they did in the past, when it was proved that WhatsApp used almost as much data as Skype, the application that offers the best quality voice calls.
The new version of WhatsApp, which is in beta, came with 331 modified files, 11 new files containing two new icons (ic_backup_error.png and ic_chats_backup_error.png) and two new files (white_circle.xml and google_drive_error.xml). It seems that the developers are making preparations to add the Google Drive option back, after testing it for a limited time on the Android version, in April.
The 2.12.183 APK can be downloaded from the official website of WhatsApp and before installing it on your smartphone, go to your device’s Settings and enable the Unknown Sources option, because otherwise, you won’t be able to install applications that are downloaded from other sources than the Google Play store.
WhatsApp reintroduced the racial emojis in the beta version 2.12.178, after they have been removed over a week ago. When typing a message, the users can add racial emoticons and strong characters, but this controversial feature didn’t make its debut on this application. Apple was way ahead of WhatsApp, bringing in February diverse emojis with five types of skin shades.
