Samsung Galaxy Note 5 vs Galaxy S7 – Release Dates, Specs and Features

1

Rumors about the Note 5’s specs started appearing months ago, but we relied only on speculations, because there were no leaks yet, but recently, Android Authority got their hands on a series of images of the upcoming phablet and they’ve also listed the specs of this phablet, which will be released next month. In this article, we’ll talk about the next Galaxy S7 as well. Tech Radar claims that the flagship will make its appearance earlier than expected, at the beginning of 2016, because the current phones aren’t selling very well.

Samsung Galaxy Note 5

The Note 5 has been exposed on a post on reddit, where someone is holding the original box in which was shipped the phablet, and he presented the back and front of the box, to make sure that we can see the specs of the new device. Then, he took the phone out of the box and photographed it from all angles.

So, the Note 5 features a 5.7inches QHD AMOLED display, it’s powered by a 64 Bit Octa-core SoC, most likely an Exynos 7420, which is backed by 4GB of RAM and has a 16MP camera on the back with OIS, and a 5MP front camera. Also, it was specified that its height is 143.9mm, but we don’t know the capacity of its battery. However, on the box was mentioned only the addition of the wireless charging capability, but the users need to get a charging pad. Most likely, the battery will be smaller than the one from the previous model, supporting 3000mAh.

The internal memory is fixed, as expected, and starts from 32GB. Most likely, there will be two other variants of 64 and 128GB. The S Pen stylus will pop out when pushing on it, just like when pushing the SIM card or the microSD. The Note 5 appears to have a glass black likewise the Galaxy S6, and in the images we’ve seen the black variant along with the Galaxy Tab Edge, which is rumored to be released in the same time as the Note 5.

Samsung Galaxy S7

According to rumors, the phone will come with a 5.1inches 4K display and previously, it was said that the screen will measure 5.2inches or 5.4inches. At the end of May, many IT websites were writing that the rear camera will be upgraded to 30MP, while others limited the resolution to 20MP. As for the front camera, it will be either 7MP or 10MP, but we’ll see about that.

The processor will be integrated into a much more advanced 64bit Exynos SoC or maybe Samsung will take into consideration the return to Qualcomm’s famous Snapdragon. By the end of this month, the Snapdragon 820 will be launched and the tests showed that it’s a real beast. It isn’t certain yet, but we’re guessing that the phone will house 4GB of RAM, 32GB of storage, and the rumors are suggesting that Samsung will switch to USB-C and will add a body fat scanner.
