Apple iPhone 6S – News, Release Date and Rumors

0

It is hard to come to terms with the fact that the iPhone 6 is almost 12 months old after having been launched in the middle of 2014.

Such is the continuing popularity of the device that it still feels fresh just as it is about to be replaced by the iPhone 6s or the iPhone 7 if some rumors are to be believed.

Display

The introduction of a 4.7-inch display on the iPhone 6 changed the entire perspective and the popularity of the device. No longer was the phone attractive only existing Apple fans, but those who had shifted to Android phones due to the need for a large display. This was evident by the sales figures of the phone, which has set new records in the last year. Even though there have been major revisions to the screen size in the last couple of generations, it is now highly unlikely that Apple will offer something larger than the 4.7 inches on the iPhone 6s. However, there is a significant possibility that the screen may come with several new technologies.

For starters, the retina technology appears to lag significantly behind the rivals like Samsung, who now use QHD resolution on their higher end phones. Even though the iPhone 6s may use the same 4.7-inch display, it always does not hurt to have more resolution rather than not to have it. At the very least, users will expect a full HD display with the iPhone 6s Plus being the first in the iPhone family to receive the update to the QHD resolution.

Camera

Apple has stuck with almost the same camera for the iPhone in the last couple of years. The eight-megapixel camera continues to be one of the best, but that may be largely down to the algorithms used by Apple. The overall detailing of the pictures suffers due to the lack of a larger sensor, which can put more data into the picture. A 12-megapixel camera in the rear would just be fine for a device of this capabilities. It would also be able to compete with cameras from phones like the Samsung Galaxy S6 – or future versions – concerning aspects like 4K video recording amongst others.

Design

All these features take a lot of battery recharging, thus bringing into play the need for a larger battery. It remains to be seen if this will be possible on the upcoming iPhone 6s. Apple has never increased the thickness of its iPhone in a subsequent generation. It is highly unlikely that the company will resort to such an eventuality on the iPhone 6s. However, increasing the battery life is probably the only way to go on the new device since it is already not one of the best in this regard. The iPhone 6 Plus has a comparatively better battery life, and it has the space to accommodate a larger battery.

Prices of the iPhone 6s are expected to be slightly higher than the launch prices of the iPhone 6.
