It seems that Google is preparing to launch the Android Pay service along with the Nexus 5 (2015) device.
Android Pay is going to be the response to other similar services released by Apple and Samsung (Apple Pay and Samsung Pay). At the same time, it is believed that the Nexus 5 (2015) is going to be the successor of the Nexus 5 2013 device. According to some earlier reports, the upcoming device will feature an advanced fingerprint sensor which will be used to make payments via the Android Pay service.
In concordance with PhoneArena, Google has already talked about Android Pay during the I/O developers conference that was held in May 2015. The upcoming mobile payment will most likely replace the Google Wallet. Unfortunately, Google didn’t confirm yet when this service will be launched, but they should do it as fast as possible in order to catch up with the Apple Pay service that was released in October 2014.
We remind you that Nexus 5 was a best seller, but unfortunately, the Nexus 6 was not so well received by the users and this is the main reason why Google is trying to “revive” the Nexus 5, by releasing a 2015 variant of the device that came two years ago.
The Android Pay will also play a big role on how good this device will be sold, as it will most likely come with a more advanced fingerprint and other features related to new payment service.
Likewise Apple Pay, Google’s upcoming Android Pay will be compatible only with the devices that feature short range wireless communications and NFC (near field communication). It seems that the recently released Samsung Pay is compatible with both MST (magnetic secure transmission) and NFC (near field communication).
Do you think that the Nexus 5 (2015) and Android Pay will be released at the same time or Google will prefer to release the new payment service in late 2015 or early 2016?
