Moto G 1st Gen, 2nd Gen, and 3rd Gen and other Motorola devices are on the verge of receiving the newest Android 5.1.1 update. The Stagefright glitch affected tons of Android gizmos. What is a StageFright snag all about? Basically, someone who is a skilled hacker can easily operate your device by sending a harmful MMS to you. These StageFright MMS messages usually come wrapped up in a catchy video, which you have the tendency to open and see what it is. Bad move, because once you click on it, you device will be infected. It was precisely this dreadful situation that demanded a fresh new update. Google immediately decide to fix this bug and to release the update to some Nexus gizmos while Samsung is also releasing the upgrade to some of its top devices. Now, Motorola is next in line and its intentions are now official regarding the Android 5.1.1 Lollipop update. This will undoubtedly mend the annoying and dangerous security breach.

The Moto G is a top selling device and lots of users are enjoying Motorola’s 3rd generation of devices. Because its devices are so famous, the company has decided to roll out the Android 5.1.1 update to every single variant of the Moto G out there. But there are other devices that will pick up this update. These are:

  • Moto X (1st Gen and 2nd Gen)
  • Moto X Pro
  • Moto Maxx and Turbo
  • Moto E  (1st Gen and 2nd Gen)
  • DROID Turbo
  • DROID Ultra/Mini/Maxx
  • Moto X Style and Moto X Play (even if they haven’t been unveiled to the public yet, they can be purchased with the Android 5.1.1 straight from the retailer’s shelves).

Note: those of you who have an unlocked Motorola gizmo, the Android 5.1.1 Lollipop should arrive pretty soon. Once the latter update is accessible, a simple notice should pop-up on your device. If you can’t see it, follow the next indications:
