Android 6.0 Marshmallow Developer Preview 3 Download Available Online
The tech world is buzzing over the new version of the Android operating system known until recently as ‘Android M’ that Google confirmed afterwards to be Android Marshmallow. The new OS is the 6.0 version and promises quite a few changes from the still extremely good Android Lollipop. The Delevoper Preview 3 of the Android 6.0 Marshmallow is now available to Nexus devices: the TV Nexus Player, Nexus 9, Nexus 6 and Nexus 5. The final version hasn’t yet been released, the release date probably being in the late fall.
The company first mentioned the Android 6.0 at the Google I/O conference that took place in May. Then, we didn’t know much about it, but today we have an idea of what the OS will bring to the table: we’re met with a very promising battery saver (Doze mode), Android Pay, Now on Tap, fingerprint scanning and new permissions API.
In the case that you already installed a developer preview on your smartphone, you will be given the update for the third version in a few days. However, if you cannot wait for that to happen, you can download the Flash Image for your device and run the Developer Preview 3 of the Android Marshamallow right now. You will find online different links for your type of gadget, so be sure to search for your specific model (for example: Android 6.0 Marshmallow Developer Preview 3 for Nexus 5).
If you don’t have a Google Nexus device, the company will soon release some previews for other Android users as well (probably starting with big companies like Samsung or LG). As for the final version, we’re expecting an October or November release, as Google usually throws the launch parties in the fall.
The version of developer preview has actually been updated from MPA44G to MPA44I so you’ll have to keep an eye on that if you want the latest version.
