Google Nexus 5 2015 Video, Features, Specs And Release Date
A lot of buzzing has been going around in the tech world about the new Nexus devices coming on the market, courtesy of Google and their affiliation with LG and Huawei. The device that Google is collaborating with Huawei on is rumored to be a phablet, while the one with LG will be a second version of the Nexus 5 that Google released last year. Both of these devices are likely to run Google’s new upcoming operating system, the Android 6.0 Marshmallow.
The best thing about Google deciding to make successors for both the Nexus 5 and Nexus 6 is that all customers will be pleased, seeing how some will prefer a smartphone, and other a phablet.
Today we have some news about the LG Nexus 5. There have been many leaks about what this smartphone will look like and what features it will have, and multiple sources have showed photos of a device that has a circular fingerprint scanner underneath the rear camera. Today, we can see on the website Oppomart some rugged cases for the new device that has an opening for both the camera and the fingerprint scanner, retailing at only 8.99 US dollars.
And since all of these rumors have been ‘haunting’ the web, a reviewer gathered all the supposed features the new version of Nexus 5 will have and made a concept video. The video shows off how the smartphone is most likely to look like and a few of its features (for example a 5.2 inches QuadHD screen which will support a 2560×1440 pixel resolution and LED flash with laser autofocus on the left side of the rear camera).
The Youtube concept video was posted by Jermaine Smit which shows off a device that seems to have been influenced by both Samsung and Apple, considering that the device is thin and surrounded by a thin metallic frame. Another visible feature is the front speakers, which might be an advantage in some customers’ opinion.
As for color choices, we’re faced with the basic black and white options.
Considering the almost certain rumour that the new device will run Android 6.0 M, it makes sense that the silver ring we see on the back of the smartphone is a fingerprint scanner. We say this because one of the most awaited features to come with Google’s new OS is the Quick Fingerprint Access that Samsung officially announced that will be available on many of their devices as well.
Looking at the build, the device’s dimensions are rumoured to be 5.78 x 2.87 x 0.31 inches. Another interesting fact is that the two companies are placing on the bottom an USB Type C port, rather than the normal USB port most of today’s smartphones and tablets are equipped with.
The release date was most likely to be in late fall because that is when Google usually launches their new OS and devices to the market, and this year the launch party is rumored to be held in October.
