The list of Galaxy Smartphones that will be upgraded to Android 6.0 Marshmallow
The new Android 6.0 Marshmallow OS has been officially announced by Google and once it will be released, it will start rolling out to the most important flagships. Samsung has a bunch of Galaxy devices which will be upgraded to Marshmallow and we have a list of the smartphones and tablets that will get it.
In June, Apple presented its upcoming iOS 9 at the WWDC 2015 event and the fans couldn’t wait to find out more about the changes that this operating system will bring. Apple focused on improving the battery life on its iPhones, by only an hour, but by enabling the Low Power Mode, the users can extend the battery life by up to three hours. In September, the iOS 9 will be finally launched (along with the new iPhone 6S and 6S Plus), but for now, the users can test the fifth beta.
In parallel, Apple’s biggest rival, Google, will come with a new version for its Android platform, which will be named 6.0 Marshmallow. An early preview of Android M was offered back in May, at the Google I/O conference, but the final version will make his way to the Android smartphones and tablets in October or November.
Samsung is a big name and Google took it into consideration, but not all of its devices will receive an upgrade to Android 6.0. Only the newest Galaxy smartphones and tablets will run the latest Android version, and the owners will have the App Permissions feature which will allow them to decide which functions the applications will be allowed to access. Also, the Memory tab feature will help the users find out which applications are consuming too much memory.
Another important feature is Quick Fingerprint Access that is related to the fingerprint scanner, with which the users can lock and unlock their devices. Now, with this feature, they can log into their Google Play Store accounts and authorize purchases.
When you’re not using the phone or tablet for a while, the Doze Mode (power saving mode) is automatically activated and the background processes are reduced in order to extend the battery life.
The list of Samsung devices that will be upgraded to Android 6.0 Marshmallow are: Galaxy Note 5, S6 Edge+, S6 and S6 Duos, S6 Edge, Note 4 and 4 Duos, Note Edge, Galaxy Alpha and Galaxy Tab A tablet.
