A list of handsets that will receive the Android 6.0 Marshmallow has been distributed by more than one source in the online environment. If you do not remember the devices that were listed, here is a quick reminder for you:
- Galaxy Note 5
- Galaxy S6 Edge+
- Galaxy S6
- S6 Duos
- S6 Edge
- Note 4
- Note 4 Duos
- Note Edge
- Galaxy Alpha
- Galaxy Tab A.
Some of you might be in a blue funk because the list doesn’t include the Galaxy S5 device. So, you might ask yourselves, why is this possible? The latter was a premium device until the Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge rolled out. I am sure there are a lot of S5 fans out there who have refused to upgrade to the S6 device. The reason behind this is surely due to the fact that the S6 does not have a detachable microSD.
But not to worry, the S5 device will get the Android 6.0 Marshmallow update sooner or latter. Samsung is still working on the list and it claimed that more devices will be gradually listed.
We wish to remind you that the list of devices you saw above was made public in 2014. It’s no surprise the fact that Samsung rolled out this brand new operating system on the more recent handsets and the old ones were left last. A pretty good strategy if you come to think about it because this way several users were bamboozled into purchasing the newest handset.
Remember that the S4 also got the Android 5.0 Lollipop update, so the S5 will clearly receive the Android 6.0 Marshmallow as well. It’s just a matter of time before the Galaxy S5 device will be added to the list.
