The giant tech company, Apple, has just announced its upcoming event on September 9, Wednesday.
Like many before, it’s expected to be the company’s launch of its latest products. The event will be held at Bill Graham Civic Auditorium in San Francisco. The venue has a 7,000-seating capacity, which is a first for Apple. With the venue this massive, many are expecting even bigger news and surprises from the company.
What to Expect
What’s expected, however, is the unveiling of the latest smartphones, or rather, the prequels to the iPhone 6/6 Plus: the iPhone 6S and iPhone 6S Plus. There are also rumors that new iPads will be introduced at the event, including iPad Pro, a rumored bigger iPad. Another persistent rumor is a revised Apple TV although there are doubts that the new streaming device will make it in time. What’s sure to be present in the event is the new iOS 9, watchOS 2, and OS X El Capitan.
What We Know About iPhone 6S and iPhone 6S Plus So Far
There is not much known about what iPhone 6S and 6S Plus will offer in terms of upgrades, but it is said to incorporate Force Touch display, which already came with newer MacBooks and the Apple Watch. The smartphones are also sporting a higher resolution camera, more RAM, and a new chipset. Apple is also rumored to be adding a new color option for the new iPhones – a rose gold color phone. The new color is an addition to the current silver, gold, and space graymodels. Earlier reports claimed that Apple made a pink iPhone, but it seems more likely that it’s the rose gold model.
No iPhone 6C In Sight
While we can say that the iPhone 6S and 6S Plus is almost already set in stone, we cannot say the same about iPhone 6C. According to rumors, although we might be seeing a smaller screen iPhone eventually, it might not happen in Apple’s upcoming event. So if you’re waiting for a new iPhone with the same screen size as the older models, you might have to wait some more. It’s still an open question if Apple will still go back to making 4-inch iPhones after the bigger iPhone 6 and 6 Plus proved to be a success.
Pre-Orders of the Latest iPhones
Even before Apple’s official announcement, there had been strong whispers about an event this September because it was the same month that the iPhone 6 and 6 Plus were announced. Now that it has been confirmed, we can also expect that the dates of the pre-orders that were rumored before arealso actually true. Pre-orders will begin 2 days after the event – on September 11. The first wave of sales is expected one week after that with the second wave coming on September 25. Mass production of the smartphones is said to start in late August with 80 to 90 million units expected to be sold. If you’re an Apple enthusiast, make sure to go online on September 9 to find out the latest on the Cupertino company.
