Moto G 2015 vs. Huawei Honor 6 – Which Mid-Range Phone Is More Powerful?

0

We have an interesting comparison for you: the newly launched Moto G third generation vs the Honor 6, which came in 2014. They have the same display size and cameras, but otherwise, they are very different.

Design

The Honor 6 comes with a uni-body design. The back is made of plastic and it’s shiny, but very prone to scratches, and we suggest you to buy a protective case for it. The sides are made of aluminum and the bezels which run across the edges are thin and made of chrome. The phone has a weight of only 130 grams, but it’s very slim, measuring 7.5mm. It’s comfortable to hold and likewise the Samsung devices, it features an IR blaster.

The Moto G 2015 uses the same design as its predecessor, but with small improvements, such as the addition of a faux metal strip on the back, placed on the vertical. It houses the camera with the LED flash and below is the dimple with the M logo. The edges are curved and the back cover can be replaced, if you don’t like its color. The device is 25grams heavier, and that’s because it’s thicker at 11.6mm. Moreover, the Moto G is water resistant, surviving 30 minutes at a depth of 1 meter.

Displays

Both phones have IPS LCD screens sized at 5-inch, but the Honor 6 supports Full HD resolution, which results in a pixel density of 445ppi, while the Moto G comes with a resolution of 720 x 1280 pixels, which gives a pixel density of 294ppi. Therefore, the Honor 6 has a sharper display, but the colors have the same tone.

Hardware

The Honor 6 is powered by an octa core processor based on a HiSilicon Kirin 920 chipset (built on a 32-bit architecture), which is paired with 3GB of RAM. The Moto G has a quad core processor sitting on a Qualcomm MSM8916 Snapdragon 410 chipset, but because it’s a newer model, it’s based on 64-bit ARM Cortex-A53. The RAM capacity is either 1GB for the model with 8GB of storage, or 2GB, which is coupled with 16GB of storage. This phone allows you to expand the memory up to 32GB, while the Honor 6 has variants of 16 and 32GB, which can be increased up to 64GB with a microSD card.

Cameras

The resolutions of their cameras are identical: 13MP on the rear side and 5MP on the front side. They even share mutual features, including dual-LED flash, autofocus, face detection, 1080p video capture at 30fps etc.

Batteries

Even if it’s slimmer, the Honor 6 has a bigger battery, whose capacity is 3100 mAh battery. The Moto G is settling for a battery of 2470 mAh, which was increased from 2070 mAh.
