We’ve heard tones of rumors about Microsoft’s next Surface Pro tablet, but finally, we finally know more information about this 2-in-1 device. According to a Chinese news site WPDang, it seems that the tablet will arrive in October, being released during an event held by Microsoft. Lenovo understood that convertible tablets are the new trend and worked on the MIIX 700 model, which will be launched in November.

Surface Pro 4

Microsoft’s upcoming Pro tablet will be available in two screen options: 12-inch and 14-inch, according to Chinese news website cnBeta. Microsoft was very secretive about the specs of the Surface Pro 4, but while a part of the reports were suggesting that tablet will be powered by Intel’s Core M Broadwell chip, which was used on several Windows machines and on Apple’s latest Macbook, other reports insisted that Microsoft will opt for a Core i7 processor. And if the second variant will be the real one, then the Skylake processors will feature Intel’s integrated Iris and Iris Pro graphics. This would mean 50 percent increase in 3D gaming performance, 4K UHD video output at 60 fps and support for up to the three 4K displays. The Pro 4 will run on Windows 10 and the users will wake it up using the Cortana feature.

The internal memory will be available in variants of 64, 128, 256 and 500GB and some report said that Samsung ordered a massive number of 256GB SSDs and they were expected to be shipped by September.

Microsoft acquired N-Trig, the Israel-based company which manufactured the pressure-sensitive styluses for the Surface tablets, so we’re expecting an improved stylus. Also, the new Edge browser will support handwriting functionality.

Lenovo MIIX 700

This tablet will cost $699 and likewise the Surface pro 4 tablet, it will come with a kickstand, a keyboard which attached using a strong magnet, but the keyboard implementation is different from Microsoft’s technology.

The Lenovo tablet will be powered by an Intel Core M7 processor, which will support up to 8GB of RAM and the internal memory will have a capacity of 256GB. The screen will measure 12-inch and will support 2,160 by 1,440 pixels and when attaching the keyboard, the device will weight 1.7 pounds.

The device will feature a 5MP camera on both sides and will run on Windows 10.
