Nexus 5 2015 vs. Huawei Mate S – Best Upcoming Smartphones Compared
Google managed to keep the upcoming Nexus 2015 away from the prying eyes, but a leaked image of the final form of the device finally appeared on the internet, so we finally know how it will look like. Huwei is the company which has been working on the other Nexus, but in parallel, it focused on its own products and soon, the Mate S will be launched. What’s special about this phone? Well, it offers Force Touch commands.
The Nexus 5 2015 will feature a plastic angular body with rounded corners and below the rear camera, it will sport a circular finger scanner. In front of the camera was placed the dual-LED flash and laser auto-focus module and we believe that the phone will come in white, black and blue color options.
The Huawei Mate S has a more luxurious appearance, as its body is made of aluminum and it has a thickness of only 7.2mm. It has also a fingerprint scanner below the rear camera, but it has a square shape, and the LED flash sits on the right of the camera.
The Nexus 5 2015 will feature a 5.2-inch screen with a full HD resolution, which will keep the battery alive for a longer time. The Huawei Mate S will be larger and its screen will measure 5.5-inch, but it will support Full HD resolution, as well. The company used an AMOLED screen from Samsung, but there is also an optional Force Touch display, which will be similar to the upcoming iPhone 6S’s screen, only that it will have Emotion UI 3.1 on top of the Android v5.1.1 (Lollipop).
We’ll have to wait until September 29, to see if the Nexus 5 2015 will truly come with Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 808 chipset, as all the rumors are claiming. We don’t have any information about the RAM capacity, but we believe that it will be 3GB. The internal memory will be available in variants of 16 and 32GB, but this information hasn’t been confirmed yet.
The Huawei Mate S will house a HiSilicon Kirin 935 octa core processor formed by a quad-core 2.2 GHz CPU and a quad-core 1.5 GHz CPU. This hardware configuration requires 3GB of RAM to offer a good performance, and the internal memory is expandable for the two variants of 32 and 64GB, but if you have enough money, you’ll buy the third variant with 128GB of storage.
The Nexus 5 2015 will sport a 13MP back camera with dual LED flash and most likely, the front camera will be 5MP, as this resolution has been used for many of the new phones. The Huawei Mate S has an identical rear camera (OIS, dual-LED flash), but the front camera is 8MP and it’s accompanied by LED flash.
The previous Nexus 5 was powered by a battery of 2300mAh. LG added more juice, so now it has a capacity of 2700mAh. The Mate S has a similar battery and it’s non-removable.
