Apple has a tradition of launching a flagship phone followed by an upgrade, usually in the month of September. The latest upgrade is the iPhone 6S and the 6S Plus.
With the company’s newly announced upgrade program, it is easy to go for the new models. The pre-order for the devices commence on September 12th and will be delivered on September 25th. With contract, the iPhone 6S 16GB costs $199 while 64GB is at $299. The bigger iPhone 6S Plus is priced at $299 and can go as high as $499 for the 128GB version.
The upgrade program is similar to the ones offered by the telephone carriers. Instead, it is now being offered by Apple. Buyers don’t have to pay hundreds of dollars upfront. They can choose to split the cost of the phone for a period of 24 months to get an unlocked iPhone, choose any carrier they want and AppleCare+ protection program. It is much cheaper compared to what mobile carriers offer.
So, here’s why buying the new iPhone 6S or the iPhone 6S Plus makes sense.
3D Touch Feature
All the familiar gestures, including swipe and pinch exist in the new iPhones. However, Apple has added a new 3D touch that enables peek and pop functionalities. With this new addition, users can pull menus by long pressing on an icon, scroll between options and tap open pictures without having to pinch. You can tapon Facebook to create a post, on camera app to take an instant selfie and so on.
12 Megapixel Rear Camera
Since iPhone 4S, which was launched in 2011, Apple refused to increase the power of the camera until now. The iPhone 6S boasts of a powerful 12-megapixel camera that not only captures images with less noise but can also record videos at 4K resolution. The camera has better autofocus functionalities. The front camera has been bumped up to a higher 5 megapixel and the screen automatically increases its brightness level to act as a flash for selfie photos.
Rose Gold Variant
The iPhone 6S and the 6S Plus will be available in the usual gold, silver and space gray variants. There is a new addition to the lot – the rose gold variant that might appeal to a lot of customers because it looks slick, different from the conventional colors and an impressive option to go for. In terms of hardware specs, there aren’t many changes for now.
