Moto X Play and Moto X Pure Edition With Android 6.0 Marshmallow Update

Google is expected to release the Android 6.0 Marshmallow this fall, which means that other smartphone manufacturers are preparing their Android devices be get updated to this upcoming OS version as soon as it gets released.

Today we’re going to talk about Motorola and its Moto X Play and Moto X Pure Edition devices. According to Android Pit, the manufacturer is already preparing these two devices for the Android 6.0 Marshmallow update and if the rumors prove to be right, it will be ready for both of these devices by the end of 2015.

The Android 6.0 Marshmallow will be released via OTA (over-the-air), which means that some devices will receive the update sooner and others later. The size of the new operating system will be more than 500MB and to check for it manually, you can go to your device’s Settings->About Device->Check for Software update.

It is good to know that the update should also be prompted automatically when it is available for your device, but in order to make sure you didn’t miss it out, we suggest you to manually check it as we’ve told you above.

According to BGR, here are the changes that the Android 6.0 Marshmallow will come with:

– The option for emergency calls will now automatically appear in case the device is anticipating some trouble. Also it will contact the nearest contact center based on your current location.
– A new API level 23 will be introduced in the device in order to support the fingerprint scanner
– The error reporting will be improved
– You will be able to rotate the home screen
– The battery life of the device will get increased as the new OS will optimize the usage.

The Android 6.0 Marshmallow will be released along with the Nexus 5X (also known as Nexus 5 2015) this fall.
