The earlier rumors said that the Lumia 950 XL will feature a Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 processor which will be backed by 3GB of RAM. We haven’t heard anything new in the meantime, which means that the phone will come with a screen size of 5.7-inch, and it will be a QHD display with a resolution of 2560×1440 pixels. Moreover, the phablet will have an USB type-c port and dual-SIM support.
On the other hand, the Lumia 950 will feature a 5.2-inch QHD display, a Qualcomm Snapdragon 808 processor, which will be backed by 3GB of RAM. The device will support an internal memory of 32GB, which will be expandable with the help of a microSD card, it will take pictures with a primary camera of 20MP (PureView) and will be kept alive by a 3000 mAh battery (which will support wireless charging).
Microsoft Lumia 950 and Lumia 950 XL: Release Date
According to some earlier rumors, Microsoft will most likely announce its new Lumia 950 and Lumia 950 XL sometime in October 2015, along with other Windows 10 devices, including the Surface Pro 4. The same rumors suggest that a wearable device named “Band 2”, along with a “mini” Xbox One, will be unveiled during the same event.
On September 14, 2015, Microsoft has begun sending invites to a media event that will be held on October 6, 2015. This is the date when many people believe that Microsoft will finally launch its 950 and 950 XL devices.
Some earlier rumors were also suggesting that the release date of these two devices will happen on October 19, 2015, but it seems that Microsoft might decide to release these devices earlier than expected.
The Lumia 950, 950 XL and Surface Pro 4 may not be the only devices that will be released during this event. There are rumors which suggest that Microsoft will also release a budget device, which is the Lumia 550.
The aforementioned phone is expected to come with a 4.7-inch AMOLED display, a Qualcomm Snapdragon 210 quad-core processor, 8GB of internal storage, 4G LTE connectivity and microSD support.
