The upcoming Android 6.0 Marshmallow is ready to be released along with the LG Nexus 5X (also known as Nexus 5 2015) and Nexus 6 (2015). This will most likely happen at an upcoming event which will be held on September 29, 2015.
Motorola’s budget smartphone such as the Moto G series will also receive the new software, but that will happen a few months later.
According to new rumors, Motorola is planning to release the Android 6.0 Marshmallow update for its Moto X Style (also known as Moto X Pure Edition in the United States), Moto X, Moto Droid Turbo and Moto X (2014) sometime at the end of December 2015 or early 2016. Unfortunately, the Moto G (second generation) and Moto G (third generation) are expected to receive the Android 6.0 Marshmallow later than the other devices we’ve mentioned above.
In concordance with TechGadgetCentral, the Moto G series will most likely get the Android 5.1.1 Lollipop update in the next months and, after that, the Android 6.0 Marshmallow will be released for them sometime in January-February 2016. However, it’s not certain yet if the original Moto G will get the new Android OS and we should wait for an official announcement about it to be 100% sure.
The Android 6.0 Marshmallow will be firstly released for Google’s devices such as the Nexus series (Nexus 5, Nexus 6, Nexus 9 and Nexus Play) as the operating system is already available as a developer preview edition for these devices.
The new Android 6.0 Marshmallow comes with an improved battery life and other features which will make your device run smoother than before.
Do you think that the Android 6.0 Marshmallow will be released for the Moto G (2nd and 3rd generation) before the end of 2015 or it will be delayed until early 2016?
