Moto X Pure Edition vs. Samsung G9198 – Which One Will Win The Comparison?
Motorola worked on two versions of the Moto X 2015 model, but the fans are more interested in the phablet with the faster processor, which has a decent price of 399 dollars. The same processor is found on the Samsung G9198 device as well, but this is a dual-display flip smartphone – in case you’ve missed the classic folder or clamshell design of phones.
Designs and Displays
The Moto X Pure Edition (Style) looks a lot like the previous flagships, featuring a curved back with metal sides, but compared to the first model, it has a screen which is 1-inch larger, measuring now 5.7-inch and supporting a QHD resolution which gives a pixel density of 520 ppi. Despite of the massive screen, you’ll notice that it’s very easy to manage it with one hand, because it has very slim bezels. So, the dimensions of this pretty successor are 153.9 x 76.2 x 11.1 mm and its total weight is 179 grams. In addition, its body is protected against water, as it benefits from a repellant nano-coating.
The Samsung G9198 measures 120.3 x 61.2 x 16.3 mm and it’s very thick because it has an old-school design with a dual-screen clamshell. The touchscreen measures 3.9-inch and it supports a resolution of 768×1280 pixels. This phone brings back the nostalgic flip design of mobile phones with physical keyboards, but Samsung made it very powerful and you won’t complain about its performance.
As we already specified, both devices are powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 808 processor which consists of a dual-core 1.8 GHz Cortex-A57 CPU and a quad-core 1.44 GHz Cortex-A53 CPU, but the Samsung G9198 is weaker because it houses 2GB of RAM, with 1GB less than the Moto X Pure Edition.
Also, both phones are equipped with microSD card slots, so you are allowed to expand the internal memory up to 128GB. While the Samsung device has only one option with a capacity of 16GB, the Moto X offers two more options: 32 and 64GB, which should have enough space.
The Samsung G9198 has cameras on both sides. The rear shooter has a resolution of 16MP, while the front camera supports 5MP. The Moto X has a similar front camera, but it’s accompanied by LED flash, while the one on the back is more advanced, or at least the resolution is higher at 21MP. The device offers also features such as phase detection autofocus, dual-LED flash, auto HDR and video recording at 2160p@30fps.
Unfortunately, the battery of the Samsung G9198 is quite small, having a capacity of 2020mAh and it doesn’t have any chance in front of the 3000mAh battery which powers up the Moto X.
