September 29 is approaching and this is the date when Google is expected to unveil the new Nexus 5 2015 (Nexus 5X) and the Nexus 6 2015 (Nexus 6X or Nexus 6P). We’ve heard so many rumors about their specs, but we’ve seen only a few leaked images, giving us a clue about how they will look like. We’ll compare the Nexus 5 2015 with Sony’s Xperia Z5 Compact, which is one of the three models which are part of the Z5 family. This is the weakest version of the family, but it’s still better than Google’s Nexus 5 2015. You’ll see why.
Designs and Displays
The Nexus 5 2015 or Nexus 5X, as it’s rumored to be called, will feature a plastic back with three color options: white, black and blue, it will be thicker in the middle and much slimmer to the edge. According to OnLeaks, a famous Twitter tipster, the upcoming Nexus 5 2015, which was built by LG, will measure 146.9×72.9×8/9.8mm. The screen will measure 5.2-inch and will support only a Full HD resolution, which would give a pixel density of 424ppi.
The Xperia Z5 Compact comes with a frosted glass back and metal sides, but it doesn’t give the same feel as the Galaxy S6. The available color options are White, Graphite Black, Yellow and Coral and the dimensions of the smartphone are 127 x 65 x 8.9 mm, which means that it’s a lot smaller and lighter (138grams). The Z5 Compact is also dust and water resistant, surviving 30 minutes to 1.5m under water. The screen measures 4.6-inch and it’s an IPS LCD with a resolution of 720 x 1280 pixels at 323 ppi.
Both devices feature a fingerprint scanner – it’s located on the power button of the Z5 Compact, while the Nexus 5 2015 will have it under the camera.
LG has opted for a Snapdragon 808 hexa core processor which will be paired with 2GB or 3GB of RAM (the rumors are divided). While some say that the minimum internal memory will have a capacity of 16GB, others believe that the Nexus 5 2015 will come with two variants of 32 and 64GB of storage, unexpandable.
The Z5 Compact is powered by the latest Qualcomm MSM8994 Snapdragon 810 octa core processor, but it’s paired with 2GB of RAM, being behind its brothers. Still, eight cores are more powerful than six cores, so the Z5 Compact is faster than the Nexus 5 2015. As for the internal memory, it has a capacity of 32GB, but Sony equipped the device with a microSD card slot for expansion up to 200GB.
The Z5 Compact has a rear camera with a resolution of 23MP and its features include phase detection, LED flash, HDR and video capture at 2160p@30fps. The other camera is 5.1MP and takes high quality selfies.
The primary camera of the Nexus 5 2015 is rumored to support 13MP and will include a two-tone LED flash and laser autofocus, while the front camera will probably support 5MP. Previous rumors suggested that the upcoming LG Nexus 5 2015 will have an 8MP back camera and a 2Mp secondary camera.
