Installing Android 6.0 Marshmallow Custom ROM By xTRaSmooth
First of all, you should know that after you install the Android 6.0 Marshmallow custom ROM by xTRaSmooth, your device will not be able to receive any OTA update with future Android versions that Google will release. However, you can fix this by installing back the official Android version and wait for the Android 6.0 Marshmallow OTA update.
Your Nexus 5 will need to be rooted or else you will not be able to install this custom ROM on it. Also, make sure that you back up all your data by installing TWRP on your smartphone.
HINT: Make sure that your device has at least 80% battery left before proceeding with the installation of this custom ROM.
Download xTRaSmooth Android 6.0 Marshmallow custom ROM and Google Apps on your computer. After that, connect the Nexus 5 to your PC via the USB cable and place the xTRaSmooth Android 6.0 Marshmallow and Google Apps zip files into the microSD card memory that’s attached to your Nexus 5.
Now, turn off the Nexus 5 device, disconnect it from your computer and perform the usual “Bootloader Mode” by pressing and holding the “Volume down”, “Volume up” and “Power” buttons. Once you’re inside the “Bootloader mode”, go to TWRP recovery mode and perform a full data wipe. You should also clear the cache memory by selecting the “wipe cache partition”.
Finally, get back to the main recovery screen and select “install zip from SD card” and select the xTRaSmooth Android 6.0 Marshmallow.zip. Do the same thing for the Google Apps.zip file and, after that, you will just need to reboot the device and you will see that the Nexus 5 runs on xTRaSmooth Android 6.0 Marshmallow custom ROM!
