Microsoft’s plans regarding the Windows 10 have been pretty straightforward and the company wishes to include the latter in the smartphone area. Thus, new handsets will be developed and they will run on Microsoft’s newest software, Windows 10. Two brand new devices are expected to roll out this fall season, the Lumia 940 and Lumia 940 XL, currently moniker Lumia 950 and Lumia 950 XL.
According to Phone Arena the Lumia 940 XL will have:
- a 5.7-inch display with a 1440×2560 QHD resolution;
- A Snapdragon 810 SoC;
- an octa-core CPU coupled with Adreno 430 GPU;
- 3GB of RAM;
- 32GB of internal storage;
- A 20MP PureView camera;
- A 5MP front-facing camera;
- An iris scanner as well as an USB Type-C port plus a native pen.
Other leaked images reveal the fact that the Lumia 950 XL might roll out in a blue shade while the smaller 5.2- inch Lumia 950 will sport a black hue.
Price wise, Microsoft might pull an Apple iPhone 6S pricing plan. Apparently, the latest rumors about the prices have been leaked by a Spanish vendor. Thus, the site eComputer.es presents the following costs:
- Lumia 950 XL priced at €749 (£541);
- Lumia 950 priced at €659 (£476).
Mark your calendar: October the 6th is the big day!
The word around town is that Microsoft is preparing the big launch for the month of October along with the unveiling of other Windows 10 gizmos, part of the package being the Surface Pro 4 device as well. The same rumors claim that a “mini” Xbox One version might roll out along with the Band 2 wearable gizmo. On the 14th of September invitations started to roll out for the event scheduled for the 6th of October.
In other news. the Lumia 550 might also be launched at this event. The latter will deliver a 4.7-inch AMOLED display with a 1.1Ghz Qualcomm Snapdragon 210 quad-core processor, 8GB of storage, a microSD card slot and 4G LTE connectivity.
