The Galaxy S6 flagship has been released this spring, being completely overhauled and more luxurious than all Samsung smartphones. The team of developers built the device from scratch and reimagined its design, opting for glass and metal, which replaced the plastic back with perforated dots and the plastic frame which was peeling off after a while. The Galaxy S6 Edge was identical, only that it had a dual-edge display. Meanwhile, Samsung released the phablet version of the S6 Edge, with similar specs. Now, the internet is starting to be full of rumors about the upcoming Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge, which are expected to be released next year, in February or March.
A concept of the Galaxy S7 Edge has been recently released and the video has been posted on YouTube, but you can watch it below:
The designer imagined the Galaxy S7 Edge a bit differently, but he was inspired by the current S6 Edge. However, the upcoming device has a rectangular body with sharp corners and has the volume rocker buttons on the left hand side, while on the right side was placed the power button. At the top, you can see the SIM tray, while on the bottom are found the Type-C USB 3.0 port and the 3.5mm headphone jack.
According to its concept, the screen will be Super AMOLED and will support a QHD resolution, the processor will be Qualcomm’s upcoming Snapdragon 820, which is expected to be launched at the beginning of the next year, and the RAM capacity will be increased to 4GB. On the back will be integrated a 21MP camera with dual-LED flash and the front camera will support 8MP.
Even if this isn’t the official design of the upcoming Galaxy S7 Edge, to be honest, it looks very nice and maybe Samsung’s team will be inspired by this concept.
According to galaxys6samsung.com, the Galaxy S7/S7 Edge will be powered by a 64bit Exynos processor which will be clocked at 3.5 GHz, the RAM capacity will be 4GB and the internal memory will come with the same three variants of capacities: 32, 64 and 128GB, but the rear camera is speculated to support 30MP. Moreover, the flagships will be water resistant and will have a 5G network connection.
