If you own a Galaxy Core Prime phone and you’re connected to the Verizon carrier, then you should know that the Android 5.1.1 Lollipop update is already available for your device. We also remind you that this update was already available for the T-Mobile and AT&T carriers.
At the same time, the Galaxy S5 Mini is also receiving the new Android 5.1.1 Lollipop and you can now wait for the OTA update or manual download the installation file from the internet. It is good to know that not only Samsung is upgrading its devices to the Lollipop version, as Huawei is finally bringing this new OS to its Ascend Mate 7.
One of the main reasons the Lollipop latest version has been released is because it comes with a fix for the Stagefright bug which was allowing hackers to gain control of the Android devices. The hackers only had to send you a MMS and once you opened it, they could have full access of your device.
It is good to know that mostly all the devices that are getting updated to the Android 5.1.1 Lollipop will eventually get the Android 6.0 Marshmallow. So, it’s only a matter of time until when this device will finally run on the newest Android OS version that Google has already announced and which will be officially released tomorrow, October 5, 2015.
It is good to know that the Galaxy Core Prime is not the only device from Samsung that runs on Lollipop. The South Korean multinational conglomerate company headquartered in Samsung Town, Seoul, has also other devices that are already running on Android Lollipop and are waiting for the Android 6.0 Marshmallow update, such as the Galaxy S6, Galaxy S6 Edge+ or Galaxy Note 5.
When do you think that the Marshmallow will be released for Galaxy’s Core Prime, S5 Mini and Huawei’s Ascend Mate 7?
