Moto X Play vs. Huawei Honor 6 Plus – What Do They Have In Common?

0

We’re comparing the older Huawei Honor 6 Plus, which was released in December 2014, and the mid-range variant of the Moto X 2014, which is the Moto X Play. If you’re curious which phone has better specs, you’ll find out after reading this article.

Designs and Displays

The Moto X Play looks exactly the same as the high-tier Moto X Style, meaning that it has a curved plastic back with a diagonal-line pattern and its color can be selected from the Moto Maker website. Motorola has improved the design a little bit, adding a faux metal band on the back, whose color can be also chosen, and since we’re talking about customization options, you should know that the program allows you to select the color of the metal sides and front panel. The body is water resistant, the dimensions are 148x75x10.9mm, resulting in a total weight of 169grams, while the screen measures 5.5-inch and it’s a TFT-LCD supporting a resolution of 1080x1920pixels at 403ppi.

The Honor 6 Plus is taller and slimmer, measuring 150.5×75.7×7.5mm and it’s 4 grams lighter, but its back is made of a glossy plastic, which has metal sides, but the screen has the same size and resolution, but it’s an IPS LCD and supports 401ppi.

Hardware

Both phones have processors manufactured in a 28nm process, but the Moto X Play is weaker, because it features a Qualcomm MSM8939 Snapdragon 615 CPU with four cores clocked at 1.7GHz and four cores clocked at 1GHz, which are backed by Adreno 405 graphics and 2GB of RAM, while the internal memory is available in two variants of 16 and 32GB, but there’s a microSD card slot which allows expansion up to 128GB.

The Honor 6 Plus features a HiSilicon Kirin 925 octa core processor with four cores running at 1.8GHz and four cores running at 1.3GHz, but they’re backed by Mali-T628 MP4 graphics and 3GB of RAM. The 3G model has an internal memory of 16GB, while the LTE model has another variant of 32GB, but with a microSD card slot, both models will allow you to increase their internal storage up to 128GB.

Cameras and Batteries

The Moto X Play has a rear camera with a higher resolution of 21MP, which takes photos with phase detection autofocus and dual-LED, but Motorola hasn’t worked much on the camera software, allowing only the X Style to record 4K videos. As for the front camera, its resolution is 5MP. At least the battery is very big, supporting a capacity of 3630 mAh.

The Honor 6 Plus has a dual 8MP rear camera with dual-LED flash and autofocus, while the front camera has the same resolution. The battery has a similar capacity as the Moto X Play, being 30mAh smaller.
