Sony Mobile has finally confirmed that the Android 6.0 Marshmallow will be released for Xperia Z3+ and Xperia Z5. It seems that the new operating system will be released for these two devices, among others, before the end of 2015.

Unfortunately, the exact release date of Android 6.0 Marshmallow update for these two devices has not been revealed. However, all Xperia Z3+ and Xperia Z5 owners should get ready to update their devices in the upcoming months.

It seems that a few Xperia smartphones were excluded from the list of the devices that will receive the Android 6.0 Marshmallow, such as: Xperia Z1 Compact, Xperia Z Ultra or Xperia Z1.

The Android 6.0 Marshmallow comes with many new features, which will allow the users to have more control over the application permissions. At the same time, the new operating system comes with Android Pay and fingerprint support, improved battery life thanks to the Doze application, a redesigned App Drawer and many more.

Google Now is now smarter, as it will recognize different contexts and will offer answers to help users take action. The app permission will allow you to have full control on what data an application can access from your device.

The App Drawer comes with a new design and it now scrolls vertically instead of horizontally. At the same time, it will show you the top 4 most recently used applications right on the top of the menu.

The fingerprint support will allow you to make purchases, unlock your device and buy things from either the Play Store or from retail stores via the Android Pay. Keep in mind that from now on, payments such as Mastercard, Visa, American Express and Discover are now supported.

Doze is the new feature that will extend the battery life of your device that runs on Android 6.0 Marshmallow. The feature will use the motion detectors to control the device when it’s not in use.
