After reinstalling the app, WhatsApp will ask if you want to restore the previous chats. You ought to answer in the affirmative by pressing the restore button. If you do this, all the previous messages, conversations and chats will appear. With this simple step, you will have all the recent conversations as if you never lost them in the first place. You can do this as many times as possible as there is no limit regarding the number of times to uninstall and reinstall WhatsApp.

This second method is a bit complex. This method allows users to restore messages and conversations that are older than seven days. Go to file manager on your phone, or install one if the phone does not have one. Then follow this step, File Manager-SD Card-WhatsApp-Databases. The database folder has some files. Rename the file to msgstore.db.crypt. Next, uninstall and reinstall WhatsApp using the method described above before pressing the restore button.
