WhatsApp Tips and Tricks for an Enhanced Experience
If you are using the WhatsApp application, then you’ve come in the right place, because we’re going to give you a few Tips and Tricks about it.
Stopping WhatsApp images appearing in your camera roll
If you receive a lot of images while you’re using the WhatsApp application, then you should know that all these images are mixed with all your photos that you’ve taken with your smartphone’s camera. However, you can stop that by using a file manager application, go to the sdcard/WhatsApp/Media and create a new file called .nomedia. This will stop any media from that folder to show up in your camera roll.
As you all know, the WhatsApp application is not locked and this can be quite annoying if you usually share your device with your friends or family, because they can just open the application and look at all the messages you’ve sent and received on WhatsApp. However, you can install an application such as “AppLock” in order to lock your WhatsApp application with a passcode.
Hiding Last Seen, Status and Profile Photo
If you usually join group chats that are filled with many random people, you should hide your identity. You can hide your last seen, status and profile photos by going to Settings->Account->Privacy and set their visibility to “Nobody” or “My Contacts”.
Muting annoying WhatsApp Group Chats
If you are in a group chat where people send messages every few minutes, then you should try to mute that group conversation to not get annoyed by the notifications. To do this, go to the Chats tab and select the group that you want to mute. While the group is open, tap on the Option icon from the top right side, select “Mute” and choose for how long you want to mute it.
Creating a homescreen shortcut
If you have a friend or a group of friends with whom you chat daily, then you will want to create a homescreen shortcut. To do this, tap on the Chats Tab and tap and hold on the conversations that you want to create a shortcut for and finally select “Add conversation shortcut”.
