Google-Huawei Nexus 6P Rumored Specs, Release Date, and Pricing

Google will be launching the Nexus 6P this coming Tuesday, September 29.

The event is expected to be huge as the company will for the first time in its history launch two smartphones during a single event.

The Nexus 6P will be launched alongside the Nexus 5X, which is a model that is made by LG. Unlike the previous Nexus 6 which was made by Motorola, the latest Nexus 6P has been designed by Huawei, and we all know what good this Chinese tech giant has brought to the American market.

Days before the official release of this phone, Android Police has come across a set of high resolution photos of the Nexus 6P with a clear indication of the design of the new phone, especially the front-facing part.

Rumored design changes

You will no longer be seeing the bubbly body that Motorola installed on the older Nexus 6, but instead, a new design has been introduced to the new phone by Huawei. From the leaked photo, the Huawei Nexus 6P has a raised black bar on the topside of the rear panel. This bulging bar is the home to the phone’s camera as well as flash, with the rest of the rear being covered in white. A fingerprint scanner has been placed just below the black bar, which kind of a weird position to place this feature.

The new Nexus 6P has also been designed with a huge Nexus logo in addition to a smaller Huawei logo. Unlike the Nexus 5X which is expected to come with three different colors in the shape of ice blue, charcoal black and quartz white, Nexus 6P will come in four colors that include black, gold, white and grey/silver.

Expected specs of Nexus 6P

The Nexus 6P will be an upgrade of the current Nexus 6. However, there are some things that will look like downgrades, but in the end, they will make the phone much better than the previous model. The display screen will be at 5.7 inches, and it will support QHD technology and a resolution of 1440 by 2560 pixels.

Inside the phone, expect to come across the latest Qualcomm-based Snapdragon 810 chipset supported with a RAM of 3GB. As far as internal storage is concerned, the new Nexus 6P will feature three variants – 32GB, 64GB, and 128GB. However, just like the latest trending Samsung devices, this new phone might come without a microSD card slot.

Google will also be unveiling the latest Android 6.0 Marshmallow, which will come pre-installed with this device. Also, the latest USB Type-C technology is expected to feature on this flagship.

Huawei is a Chinese phone maker, and it is rumored that Google is trying to leverage the popularity of the OEM in a bid to restore its Google Play Store services in the country. On the other hand, Huawei expects that this new partnership will help steer its popularity and brand in Western nations.
