The R7 from Oppo follows the Oppo R5 and is a beautiful and slim smartphone.
It looks similar to the R5, with a metallic look, but it is slightly bigger and also thicker with more style. It runs smoothly and has resolved the major problem of the R5, as the camera application in the Oppo R7 runs without any hitch.
Design and Display
The phone comes with a display of 5 inches and screen resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels. The dimensions of the Oppo R7 are 5.6 x 2.8 x 0.2 inches, and it weighs 147 grams. The phone is available in gold and silver colors and looks amazing. It resembles the latest Galaxy phones, but it is not too comfortable to hold, having metal edges. The display has a good resolution and phone gives a premium, luxurious feel.
Snapdragon 615 by Qualcomm powers Oppo R7, with 1.5 GHz Octa-core Processor. It comes with an internal storage of 16 GB, which is expandable to 128 GB with the use of a microSD card. The RAM is 3 GB and a 2320 mAh battery powers it. Being a mid-range phone, it does not have the powerful specs of high- end flagship phones. The processor, however, does offer a smooth experience, and you can run games or other applications that are resource intensive quite smoothly.
The phone comes with a 13 MP rear camera and an 8 MP front camera. The battery is not too powerful, but the technology used in the phone is capable of fast charging. You can charge the battery to three-fourths of full power in half an hour.
The phone is available in different versions. There is an international version that works on LTE, and you can get versions for 4G.
Software and Applications
The 4.4.4 KitKat Operating System from Android powers the phone. It enables gesture features, making it easy to access the device. The themes are also customizable. Though an older version of Android KitKat has been used, it features the Color OS of Android and, moreover, there is not much of stock Android on this device.
The customized launcher offers some signature features, such as gesture control. The camera can be easily activated with an O drawn on it. Again, you can turn on the music with a swipe of two fingers, even when the screen is not on. By pinching the screen with the fingers, the camera can be turned on and sliding three fingers enables taking a screenshot.
