LG G4 and Sony Devices Received Android 6.0 Marshmallow Update

0

It seems that the guys from LG have moved pretty fast this year, as the company already announced that the Android 6.0 Marshmallow update for its LG G4 device will be released next week in Poland and it will be followed by other locations from America, Asia and Europe.

Some older Nexus devices have already received the Android 6.0 Marshmallow update, which comes with an improved Google now option called “Now on Tap”, along with improvements made for the privacy, security control, battery and a way to setup the device easier.

The application that will improve the battery life of your LG G4 is named “Doze” and it will end any background process that’s running while the device is in stand-by mode. Keep in mind that you will be able to set what application can’t be closed while the device is in stand-by, but you will also receive notifications from WhatsApp or Facebook if you get any.

At the same time, you will notice a new application permission model, which will allow you to control everything an application can access from your device. This is an awesome feature that was not found in any earlier Android OS versions. Until now, you could just see what the application will be able to access and either “Accept” and install the application or “Decline” and refuse to install the application.

Sony has confirmed that the Android 6.0 Marshmallow will be released on 14 Xperia devices, but it will most likely take a while until the company will finally release the latest Android OS version on those devices.

LG is usually not pushing out major new Android updates, but we remind you that last year, it made the Android 5.0 Lollipop OS update available for some of its devices. With other words, it seems that the company will try to keep up with this and will always be the first company that releases the latest Android OS for its devices (after Google).
