Skype Updates Conversation Style – Join One By Just Clicking An URL

0

This Thursday, the developers of Skype released a new update for this application that allows anyone to join a conversation even if they don’t have the Skype application installed.

All you will need to is to share a unique link with someone via Facebook, WhatsApp, email or whatever other ways you can and anyone who clicks on it will be able to join Skype via the web application. In addition, the user who clicks on the URL will not need to create a Skype account or to download/install the application. At the same time, they will not be limited to any kind of feature, as they will be able to use the Video, Voice or send instant messages without any problems.

The users who live in the UK or US can start a conversation from the Skype application that runs on Windows, Web or Mac. After they log into their Skype account, they will just need to click on the “+New” button from the Skype window and share the unique link with his friends.

Once the guest clicks on the URL, (s)he will be able to join the conversation. To understand better how this new feature works, take a look at the video below:

Keep in mind that the text chat will work immediately, but in order to make audio or video calls you will need to have the Skype browser plug-in installed.

Unfortunately, this feature currently works only in the US and UK, but according to the developers, in the next couple of weeks it will be available worldwide. The developers of Skype have also released the first update to Mojis feature since it was released back in September. The feature allows you now to send short movies or TV clips (just like gifs) to your friends. The new update comes with many new tabs and clips that you use.

What are your thoughts about the new way that you can keep in touch with your friends that don’t have Skype installed on their computers?
