Sony has finally confirmed the devices that will receive the latest Android OS version. According to the report, the Android 6.0 Marshmallow will be released for the following devices manufactured by Sony:
– Z5, Z5 Compact, Z5 Premium, Z3+, Z3, C5 Ultra, M4 Aqua, C4,
Z4 Tablet, M5, Z3 Tablet and Z2 Tablet.
We remind you that the Android 6.0 Marshmallow was released on October 5, 2015 along with the Nexus 5X and Nexus 6P. Since then, the new Android OS version is getting prepared for many devices that are powerful enough to run it.
For now, almost all Nexus devices which were running on the Android 5.1.1 Lollipop are now running on the Android 6.0 Marshmallow. We also remind you that the LG G4 became the first non-Nexus device that received the new operating system. Depending on the region you live in and the carrier you are connected to, the OTA update might be available sooner or later. However, if you own an LG G4 device and you didn’t receive yet any notification about the update, you can manually check it by going to Settings->About Phone->Update.
The Android 6.0 Marshmallow is bringing some major visible changes. For instance, the home screen drop down menu now looks a bit different and it has a “DND” feature that allows you to make the device either completely silent, priority only or alarms only. While having the total silence feature enabled, even the music player or videos will be muted.
It is good to know that the new Android 6.0 Marshmallow update will fix the lag and overheating issues that the Android Lollipop had. In addition, the battery life has been improved with a new application called Doze, which will close any background application while the device is in idle mode.
