OnePlus One vs. OnePlus X vs. ZenFone 2 vs. Moto G – Specs, Features and Software
This will be an interesting comparison, since we’ve chosen to compare five of the most popular mid-range smartphones with pretty decent specs. But they’re not similar and some of them have better processors, or larger screens and the batteries have different capacities, so, which phone wins the competition?
Designs, Dimensions and Displays
The first OnePlus One, with its Silk White or Sandstone Black variants of textures for its back measures 152.9×75.9×8.9mm and it weights 162 grams, but since it’s a phablet, the screen is very large, measuring 5.5-inch (LTPS LCD), but the resolution is Full HD and stuck with a pixel density of 401ppi.
The OnePlus X is much smaller (140x69x6.9mm) and it weights 138 grams for the black Onyx variant with a glass back, or 160 grams, if the users pick the Ceramic model, but this one is available only in 10,000 units. The screen is an AMOLED sized at 5-inch and it supports 1080x1920pixels at 441ppi.
The Zenfone 2 has a brushed metal body with the volume buttons moved to the back, below the rear camera. Its dimensions are 152.5×77.2×10.9mm, the weight is 170 grams and the screen is an IPS with a diagonal of 5.5-inch, but likewise the OnePlus One, it supports a resolution of 1080x1920pixels at 401ppi.
The Moto G 2015 comes with a matte plastic back with horizontal lines and in the upper side of the back is a vertical strip which contains the camera and the logo. Also, the frame is made of faux metal, the physical dimensions of the body are 142.1×72.4×11.6mm and its weight is 155 grams. The phone is water resistant and features an IPS LCD screen with a size of 5-inch, which supports the lowest resolution from this category, 720×1280 pixels at 294ppi.
The One A9 is like a One M9, but it was criticized for being too similar to Apple’s iPhones, because it has the rear camera positioned above one of the horizontal strips (radio antennas) and because the back is made of aluminum. Anyway, the dimensions are 145.8×70.8×7.3mm, which give a total weight of 143 grams. The screen measures 5-inch and uses Samsung’s AMOLED technology, supporting also a Full HD resolution with 441ppi.
All smartphones have a 13MP main camera, but that doesn’t mean that all features are identical. Except for the OnePlus X, which supports phase detection autofocus, the other phones support the simple autofocus feature. Also, this is the only device supporting a single LED flash, while the others are equipped with dual-LED flash. Moreover, the One A9 is the only device to offer OIS, while the OnePlus One can record 2160p videos @30fps, while the others capture Full HD videos.
The One A9 has a 4Mp Ultrapixel front camera, the OnePlus X has a superior 8MP camera, while the rest of the phones will allow you to take selfies with their 5MP shooters.
The order of battery capacities puts the OnePlus One on the first position, with a 3100 mAh unit, it’s followed by Asus’ Zenfone 2 – 3000 mAh, then the third position is occupied by the OnePlus X – 2525 mAh. On the fourth position we’ll find the Moto G with a 2470 mAh battery, while the biggest loser of this competition is the One A9 with a 2150 mAh battery.
